Assistant Manager, Flight Operations Safety (Internal Application)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support FOP Safety and Compliance team to ensure operations within FOP is conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and standards of HKEA.
  • Establish FOP Safety Performance Indicator.
  • Responsible for conducting SMS activities within FOP. Routinely identify, assess, monitor and document existing or potential safety and security risks to aircraft operations and implement appropriate risk controls or mitigation to not only maintain an acceptable level of safety but to continuously improve the overall safety and security level of aircraft operations.
  • Make recommendations regarding risk tolerability with respect to the safety and/or security for the respective operational business unit based on the tolerability defined in the Operational Risk Matrix.
  • Perform Compliance Inspections on Flight Operations operational procedures and analyze audit results to determine trends and assess the effectiveness of the corrective action.
  • Manage and supports LOSA programme.
  • Coordinate with the relevant managers and professional group in defining or amending policies/ processes/procedures as risk mitigation measures.
  • Ensure that FOP department manages change using Safety Risk Assessment Form for change management activities related to operational document revision.
  • Review industry's (IOSA/IATA/CAD) documents to identify operational changes and requirements.
  • Work in conjunction with SRM to contribute to UO Safety Newsletter for FOP.
  • Support FOP to improve the overall safety level of aircraft operations.
  • Support and assist Department Head and his/her management team in instilling Just Culture and a culture of safety and quality within FOP.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and tasks as required.

Qualification and Experience Requirements:

  • 2 years' aviation experience in Flight Operations.
  • Sound knowledge of Safety Management System (SMS).
  • IOSA / LOSA auditor qualified would be an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of civil aviation regulations and relevant regulation legislation governing or
    affecting operation of the Airline.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems in correlation with prescribed Normal, Abnormal and Emergency
    procedures.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English; Cantonese and Mandarin are a plus.
  • Proficient in computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and
    PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable working and analyzing large amount of data.
