Role Purpose

1. Sustainable Development (SD) Strategies, Planning, Target Setting, Project Implementation and Performance Monitoring

• Develop and drive the overall SD strategy and implementation plan, establish applicable targets, and monitor related performance for the airline; and
• Guide the development of the supporting strategy and implementation in the aspects of climate change, sustainable aviation fuel, carbon reduction, single-use plastics and waste reduction and community engagement.
• Lead the SD Report and literature in accordance with Hong Kong and international requirements and best practices.
• Lead sustainability projects to achieve organisation sustainability aims

2. SD Governing

• Regular review and revise the sustainable development governance structure to ensure we meet with regulators' requirements and adopt best practices;
• Executive various governance meetings, and provide updates to stakeholders;
• Ensure the Company is compliant with any legal requirement as related to sustainable development, climate change; including but not limited to CORSIA, EU ETS etc.

3. Stakeholders Engagement

• Consult with advise and work with various business units to ensure sustainability consideration are built in as part of on-going business practices;
• Support communications for proper storytelling with the aim to build up the brand and reputation in these areas;
• Represent HK Express in industry groups, cross-sectorial organizations, and various external environmental or community engagement events; and
• Support the wider sustainability objectives of Cathay Pacific & Swire Group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in environmental science/ sustainable development/ aviation/ business administration or other related disciplines;
• Good knowledge of sustainable development in the context of a commercial world, such as sustainability frameworks, standards, and regulations, especially in the aviation industry;
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in sustainable development, or environmental affairs; aviation experience a plus
• Understanding and sensitivity towards public sentiment in Hong Kong and global environmental and sustainable development topics;
• A strategic thinker and good planner, with deep understanding of change management, communications, and reputation management;
• Ability to engage at the senior level; and to facilitate and lead cross-functional initiatives;
• Excellent written English and Chinese;
